Lexiconcubine

Lexicons are awesome! The Lexicon is a game devised by Neel Krishnaswami a few years ago where you play a scholar who writes entries that link to the entries of the other players. A lexicon is a lot of fun and it's a great writing exercise. It can also be used as a world builder for a story or an RPG.

Oldest Spiderweb Found in Amber

The world's oldest spiderweb has been found in a block of amber. It was frozen in there 140 million years ago. This means it was built by a spider who was a contemporary of the dinosaurs.

BSG Spinoff Caprica Greenlit

Because I am a geek and because the Sci-Fi Channel is involved, I am cautiously optimistic about Caprica. It's got a hell of a cast: Paula Malcomson, Polly Walker, and everybody's favorite New York Times Crossword Puzzle answer Esai Morales. I'll be there.

Venice Floods Hit 22-Year Record

Venice floods a few times a year. This week, the waters got higher than they've been in a long time and National Geographic has these fantastic pictures.
